Recently I wanted to install W2K on my old system which was running Windows 98SE. So I went in, created the NTFS partition, formatted, and proceeded with the 2000 install. Well, when I get to the part of the install where it installs keyboard and mouse drivers, my screen goes to black only with a blinking cursor. I let it sit there for 20 minutes with no change in activity. Only thing I can do is reboot. It's now done this to me 4 times. Does anyone have an idea of what's happening and how I can fix it. Thanks

I had this same problem too. For some reason I just switched out my hardrive IDE cable and everything was fine.....WEIRD.

Interestingly enough, I took out the current gfx card and tossed in a S3 Trio 8MB. I was able to successfully install W2K. I put back in the ATI, installed 2000 drivers and now everything is working fine.
