Within 48 hours there will be bombing of parts of afghanistan and troops will enter the teritory officially (where as the first camp was kind of unnoficial and allied with the northern alliance).

every now and then, something about this hits home. one of my sister's best friends is a grad student and in the army reserves. he got a call monday saying, hey, don't show up for your scheduled "one weekend a month" this weekend, and he's thinking, dude, bonus... had a project due monday that he needed to be working on... then friday he gets a call at 4 am saying pack your **** buddy, and no we WON'T tell you where you're going. by 5 am he was gone.

luckily, he is a highly skilled mechanic, and will probly not be a bullet catcher, even if he does wind up near the front lines. hopefully he only misses a semester or two.

yea a ****load of reserves were called in, one thing sucks though, now it's too late to bomb they should have done it right away... and you know who should have been sent there, those protestors from washington, that would have taught them a lesson

I know there are troops over there, and I know we are going to strike, but we dropped to Bravo on Friday... If we where going to attack, I don't think we would have dropped from Charlie.

i dunno where burzhui is getting his "facts," and all i have is anecdotal evidence that something - who knows what - is going to happen. i know four reserves that got called to active duty, and none were told where they were going. ominous, but who knows?

right, we knew about the deployments... it's this "we will invade and bomb in 48 hours" that is suspect. nothing about it on the cnn webpage, or msnbc... they both have as the top story "we have confirmed osama's location." just seems a bit odd that it's "all over the tv" but not the associated webpages.

Delta is when we are underattack (at war). This is what we went straight to when we were attacked.

Charlie is when we are threatened. We are at full alert but not at war. This is what we have been in the past couple weeks.

Bravo is when we are at hightened security, but no immediate threat is there.

Alpha is normal conditions.


The base commanders can make the rules up to what securities measures are taken at each level. Even though we are at Bravo, they are still checking ID's and searching cars going into the base.


I really don't see where the news gets some of their information. Yeah, we are moving troops, yeah we are deploying the reserves but for the media to know what we are doing and broadcasting our next move? I would rely on that as much as I rely on the Star to tell me the National news.

I am not doubting you heard it. I just don't trust it... not yet anyway. Top Gun up in Fallon still flying and so are the Thunderbirds and training squadron here. If they were going to do something, Fallon would be shipping out for sure and prob the A-10s and F-16s here. I know when they deploy from here, they are taking one from Donnie's shop (not donnie, thank God). But anyhoo, I wanna hear Mr. Powell say it.

we have found osama, do you really think they didn't know where he was? I mean give me a break after the british inteligence and the Russian specifically told USA of his location, do you really think that they didn't know where he was?

good point - tom brokaw has a nasty habit of stating things as fact, and then i realize later that it's just his opinion. like during the clinton-dole race, i think, at a debate, one of the candidates offered to meet the other in another dbate later, and the other one said sure, dude. tom brokaw's dumb butt breaks in on the mic with "that WILL NOT HAPPEN, ladies and gentlemen," - he said it a good 3 or 4 times - and then later he says, yeah they probly won't meet for another debate, because candidate a won't want to because of this, and candidate b won't want to because of that, so it's not gonna happen.

Chrissy i totally see what you are saying about the broadcasting of the plans it's pretty retarded i dunno why the us does that, they did it during desert storm as well, i am guessing it's to give the nation a false sense of info, such that we think we have the info and dont try to dig deeper into it. So US gives us some news but then does some **** on the side and we don't know about it because our interests have been lowered.

On a separate note, you guys remember how several peoples from new york, including yours truly, said that the palestinians were partying in the streets of brooklyn, well they got what they were asking for, the Italians and the russains beat the living **** out of them, especially the italians, they had their own little war on those bastards it was great, they didn't discriminate either, everybody in the streets laughing and partying, children, women, elderly, got theirs
