Help! I need your opinions

I am thinking of going on a study abroad trip in January to London, Paris, and Amsterdam. However, I can't decide what to do cuz the world is "unstable" at the moment with the onset of this "new war," and who knows what it could be like in January. I really want to take the trip cuz I love traveling, but I'm worried that it may be dangerous to either fly or just travel abroad in general. Plus, by that time, airline tix prices will have skyrocketed. The money isn't really too big of a deal unless the prices are REALLY insane. So, what would you do if you were in my situation? Any advice and opinions are welcome.

i would go. still safer than driving to work every day, and a hell of a lot more fun to boot. you won't get many more chances like this.

take lotsa pictures and share them, a la renots!

IF safety is what youre worried about... you dont have a whole lot to be worried about. Consider the following

(1)now IS the safest time to fly

(2)those planes crashed in AMERICA... not in europe.

(3)the whole plane crashing thing may be over for all you know

(4)what are the chances that YOUR plane will be attacked? consider how many planes actually fly in one day all over the world... its like a one in a billion chance.

(5)itll be worth the small risk

cool, thanks for the support everyone. i am going to put in my application tomorrow. actually, the trip is to study HIV/AIDS in these countries, which is something i'm very interested in. so if i get accepted and all, i'll def post pics of everything. maybe if there's a good pic of me i'll post that too. heh heh.

I don't think the world is any less stable than before. It is just that we have opened our eyes to what other's in the world have seen. I don't think you should put off plans just cause of what happened 9/11/01. Go have fun

Just don't act like a tourist and you'll be fine. You should probably be able to blend in no prob, unless youre with a bunch of yapping touristy types.

well, i was accepted. they only accepted 16 people out of a very large and "strong pool of applicants." i'm pretty surprised that i got in, but it looks like i'll be taking the trip. yay!
