Does anyone have any ideas about cellular service? I have a MCI Worldcom Service that has UNLIMITED NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS. They all of a sudden decide to change the service to 500 minutes Nights and Weekend and cancelled the unlimited. Is there any law that prohibits changing of plans without consent? What should I do?

P.S. Dont get MCI WORLDCOM WIRELESS SERVICE. THEIR SERVICE SUCKS / BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

In the defense of MCI Worldcom, they are NOT a carrier of service. They just resell everybody elses service (i.e. Verizon, AT&T, Cingular, Sprint). My recommendation: go directly to the carrier. Never go through a reseller.

MCI sucks very big D1CK, first of all the customer service sucks, 3+ hours on hold people .. then you get bills about every 3 months or so... and you can immagine what you get after 3 months.... in any case i am very happy with sprint it all depends on the phone you get.

But my dad kept his MCi worldcom and now is suffereing... and voice stream sucks as well.

In NY anyway

cellular service varies with the area&company combo.

I was in Pittsburgh for college, and I had sprint while my friend had att. AT&T was 100 times better in coverage (sprint has gotten better there, but i'd still go with att)

Now, I'm in Baltimore, and well, in the balt/dc area, Sprint rocks....
I dunno about any other companies but I've had no problems with Sprint at all.

agreed...

i was in pittsburgh for college as well...at&t was the best for that area...but now i'm in the dc area and sprint seems to be the weapon of choice here. i'd say ask around...and focus your investigation on people in your area. where are you by the way?

I'm using Verizon. It seems to be the best carrier in my area. I had Cingular, sucked. My sister has Sprint, sucks. I made the mistake of getting service through a booth at the mall. Get it through a real Verizon store, they won't kill you with hidden charges (I hope).

I had sprint when I was back home in DC over the summer and it was horrible. I would get my calls cut off all the time and the static was so bad I switched to Voicestream Voicestream works real well in DC but in Boston its hard to get a signal.

The nice thing about AT&T is that it has regional coverage - so I travel a lot in the West and no matter if I'm in Cal, Nev, AZ, or Oregon, all local calls still are free ;)

If anyone lives in LA, you know how ridiculous Cingular is right now. Half the time, you get out of service messages, other other half you get kicked straight to voice mail. I'd say only a fraction of calls actually go through. My friends who have Cingular have been told by reps their network is overloaded, leading to the poor service (or no service, as the case may be).

I'm with Verizon, and I'm pretty happy with it. Decent plans, and service is pretty darned good. I have a Timeport, and my co-worker who has the very small Nokie on the AT&T network gets very comparable service. Sprint is weak sauce, however, though your results will vary more by phone with Sprint than any other carrier.

Everyone in soCal seems to have Cingular, loved it and now hate it. It gets to the point that drops are a normal part of the conversation! Verizon and ATT are currently the more reliable ones here in NorCAL but their phones are bricks compared to the cool Cing ones. Sprint is also pretty bad up here also. Can a poll be made on this?
