as i type this. I, Nija, am running Linux. Mandrake 8.1. go a head... guess who installed??... go on.... alright i'll tell you. IT WAS ME! And I did it all by my little lonesome self. Althought revrend evil (w00ps sorry revil!), evil cyclops and Loki did attempt to help me (w00p thanks guys!) and psychokid... well just kept telling me that he knew linux, but was going to sleep... but i digress. I installed my internet connection, gaim (hehe AIM w00p) licq (Lame I C Q w00p) and a few other things. I feel like i could almost do anything. anyways.. i'm off to figure out how to use this evil thing now..

BTW IRC - I can't figure how to use the IRC client, so if someone could humble me and tell me how to do it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Linux has been partitioned onto A windows computer running Windows ME with 512, a X-Gamer 5.1 Sound Blaster Sound Card and a Intel 8108 video card (built into motherboard). I had a few problems loading up Red Hat with the Disk Druid (uhh linux version of partition magic?)so i said funk it and went to mandrake. Mandrake installation was easy, very smooth, and i only had one small problem (i don't have a smtp adrres or news groups address so i could configure my mail client).

Looking at it now.. it kind of looks like a MAC OS for some reason.. except I have 3 times the stuff, it' runs *extremely* quickly and it's on a 3 gig partition. it's really cool. I thought linux was going to not have a GUI or anything and basically look like and AS400 setup... boy was i wrong...

Try installing somethign a bit more difficult...like an old version of slackware...its the only true linux out there
