EMAIL sucks sometimes

I got 204 emails this morning all from friends and relatives, with various links to WTC websights,chainletters,etc..man this stuff gets to be a pain in the ass since everyone I have in my address book also has everyone else has in theirs..it goes round and round..I sent a pretty good joke to someone and I got it back 64 times. Don't people realize that forwarding without seeing who has already gotten the mail before them,sucks?

I don't even read my email anymore. I can't tell you how many times I've berated people for sending that kind of crap. I usually point them to this page (http://www.writerswrite.com/journal/dec99/pirillo1.htm).

Consider yourself lucky only getting 200 emails a day. I put my pic on AmIhotorPhuckinWhat.com and now I averaging close to 2 thousand emails a day beggin for sexual intercourse. It wouldn't be so bad but half of those requests are from Prominx's mom! Ewww. ;)

I don't mind those useless e-mails from friends...but spam is my #1 enemy....

also, I hate having like 5 e-mail accounts...I wish I could get rid of some, but it's kinda tough...

I was thinking of starting a FIGHT SPAM thread. I don't get an extreme amount of spam - maybe 2-4 per day. But I've started fighting back. I use Sam Spade to investigate the host or ISP of the offender (or the source of the target website from the email), then forward (with complete headers, and where applicable the HTML source) the email to the appropriate "authority" (often [email protected]) requesting that they discourage their users from sending unsolicited email. I have gotten several accounts shut down. :D
