well here isn't for eternity. even if there's heaven on earth, it would still be depressing to die and not go to heaven for eternity.

John 3:13- No man has ever ascended to heaven except the one who came from heaven, the son of man.

K I will prob catch hell for that but oh well :)

If it's heaven it can't get boring. it's heaven, it's perfect. its like the 1st time u went on Nitro (in Six Flags) it was super cool and exciting, and in heaven the Nitro is super cool and exciting every time! but thats just my opinion...

lol burzhui cmon man when you're in heaven there'l be nothing to cause you to get bored, no tempations, no sin. Imagine, no worries about time, wake up pick an apple eat it, then sleep for the rest of the day. The thought that it'll be boring will never cross our heads.

hahahahahah you guys are cracking me up!...

but Tuvi is right on this one. Heaven would be much better than peace on earth... and cause peace on earth will never happen.

nefretiti, what (per)version of the Bible are you quoting from?

yeah, they think heaven will be on earth.

Yes we do believe in going to heaven but not until the 2nd coming of Christ. When you die, it's pretty much an unconscious state and we don't believe that when you die you either go straight to heaven or to hell.

here's link that explains it, read number 24-27
link (http://www.adventist.org/beliefs/index.html)

you know.. the argument that says we dont go to heaven or hell immediately is really just pointless. i mean either way its immediate.. cuz you all said yourselves that the dead no nothing and have no concept of time or anything, so to them, going to heaven is immediate. and we on earth can't say anything about the timeliness of this process since we have no idea. i guess you all knew that, but i just wanted to point it out anyway. also, whether its called heaven or eternal life, what does it matter? as long as its with God, then its all good.

Not pointless at all. The simple fact is that we don't float up to heaven after we die. It says so very clearly. It also describes eternal life after Christ returns in the book of revelation, and it is mentioned in many other books too, but most christian religions do not emphasize prophecy.

I have just started studying the bible right before this september 11th stuff happened but have been taught from it since I was six so I remember some stuff. I have to get better at remembering where stuff is in there though. But I know it's John 3:13 that talks about not going to heaven. I also want to find how we came up with this going to heaven thing orginally. I know who created hell...that italian guy Dante.
