Go with a Cat-Back exhaust. Milage may increase a bit, a better response with the engine. Intake? Well unless you get one that actually draws in COOL air not from within the engine bay then go for it.

Denser air allows for more efficient burning because the something makes something burn better. Yeah.

Might give you better gas mileage. How?
Your engine's computer is program, as is to the ability of your engine. So for certain RPM and air intake this X amount of fuel will be delivered, taken into account what has been deem efficient by the engineer of the engine, when they tested it. The computer might be able to compensate for such add on like intake, elevation and outside temp and engine temp. But only by varied amount. Well only to what has been programed into the car computer.

Well let’s say that your engine computer delivers more gas than air that the engine is pulling in, with stock filter air box. Adding an intake might burn that extra fuel or better yet compensate and add more fuel equal more HP J. Now if your planning on stick on a big ass pipe you’re going to loose HP. Why, because the diameter of your intake should be big enough to let air in at certain velocity.
Example: blow into a straw force is stronger, now blow with out a straw…get the point?
There is so much more on this…………

Hope this helps.

Most cars are built for optimum gas mileage, not performance, because of CAFE ( Corporate Average Fuel Economy ) standards. If the factory could have gotten better gas mileage with cheap bolt on components, they would have done it.Your computer has already been set for optimum mileage and pollution. The best thing you can do is to watch your driving habits and keep your tires inflated.

D@mn all good points.

Minor enhancement should such as intake and exhaust. Should help out mileage.......factory exhaust and catalytic converter does rob out mileage and performance.......example like the recent recall of the Miata and the Ford Cobra.....bad exhaust setup cause lost of power and maybe mileage too.
