jets fly over my place... i live under the final approach for the Will Rodgers Arpt. in OKC, and i think these military jets are doing fly-by's around the airport and city...

i jsut hear this really fast roar fly over, at about 2000ft or so, and lasts only like 10 secs, if that much.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeird.

Nano, there is a military base near you isn't there?

I have a friend in Moore, OK who works with the FAA. There will be a lot of that for a while. Even flight patterns here have changed.

yeah - Tinker AFB. Been hard to get into for that last month - our delivery guys dont like to make deliveries out there cause it takes so long to get in.

Been going on all day, and maybe yesterday too. kinda makes yah wonder if they're expecting something else...

Yeah, I know what you mean. But they have changed the flight patterns here and they are flying over the city more. We have a war game going on here (Red Flag) where other countries come and their pilots go against ours... that might be a little of ours. But even the Thunderbirds are not flying. And normally during the Red Flags they do when they are home.

There have been routine military jets patrolling around Ohare here in Chicago since the Sept. 11 attacks. And of course the incident this week when a nut broke into the cockpit as a plane was coming in - the sonic boom from the scrambled fighters really shook some people up.

get used to it...

i live in alexandria, fairly close to the pentagon and national airport...there have been fighter planes in a routine pattern over my neighborhood since sept 11th.

i think the saddest thing about it all...i'm used to it already.

well,

i don't know if any of you guys heard about that mental guy that tried to get into the cockpit of an AA flight from australia to chicago...but that plane was near chicago and they sent jet fighters to scramble the plane. i guess i was close to it, cause i heard several sonic booms, and my new house started to shake...it was wierd, i didn't know chicago had earthquakes

Yeah. They "heard" about it two posts ago. :D
