View Full Version : Story time...

Okay, I got this great idea when I was driving back from work. I really love those stories that are written by many people. What happens is this: A person starts a story by writing an opening passage, and then people add onto the story. This way, the story can take wacky twists and turns using many different peoples' imaginations.
The only thing is, I think there need to be some ground rules:
1. Keep your section short. Try and limit it to a paragraph or two at a time.
2. I think it would be okay if you came back and added more, but try and make sure that there are atleast a few sections written by other people in between.
3. Illustrations could be good too.
4. Don't try and end the story prematurely. This is supposed to be fun, so let people go with it.
5. Oh, and I'm sure the moderators will have something to say about this, but try and keep it clean. Symbolism is good though.
Okay, here goes...
Once upon a time, in a land of vast forests and crystal clear waters, a boy stood at the edge of a high cliff, peering into the distance. This was no normal boy. He, like his twin sister, had incredible powers that could have easily laid waste to the lands that lie before him, but they were too kind hearted to even allow that kind of thought to pass through their minds. His reason for being so pensive was simply this. He could sense a presence; a powerful and evil presence. Mac turned to face his sister who was standing off at a distance, and her eyes met his in recognition of the empending battle.

I'm not a lurker, but I don't usually post a lot... I'm just bored right now, so I have a lot of time to just sit infront of the computer. But, to make a long story short, my old account was on a different computer, and I forgot my password as well as stopped using the original email. So, just to keep things easy, I just created a new account...

My user name used to be Ladogaboy, but I haven't used it in a while now...
and yes, I did lurk about G|A for a year before I started to post... I've been an apexer since early in '99
Talk about a name from the past.

I can only hope to achieve the level of master potato peeler so that one day, I might be able to peel the lower half...

Hmm. Did this rank assignment (take the "rank" in whatever way you want :heh: ) have anything to do with MusashiM trying to start another "keep it rolling" thread?

Actually, I think it came from DF jumping to conclusions; he thought I was a newbie... but after all, the proof is in the puddin' :hmm: :deal:

hey what's up with all you people? Hey Musashi, you're brilliant game idea isn't going too well. I don't think people read your rules: "1. Keep your section short. Try and limit it to a paragraph or two at a time." And it's suppposed to sound like a continuous story!! And then....
MusashiM
10-13-2001, 10:35 PM
hehe, well they did follow the rule about allowing a couple of people to post before they replied again!!!
and afterall, looking on the bright side, this story had more twists and turns than I thought it would!!!! :D
:o Oh, and as for you Admiral Lower Half Dark Fury Sir, your mashed potato bath is ready...
