That's what me ex used to call my....oh, wait a sec. That's right. I was talking about the movie. I'm going to watch it tonight. The commercial looks pretty good. I'll let everybody know how I like it when I get back. I'm sort of looking forward to it cause Yuen Wo Ping (Matrix, Crouching Tiger) choreographed the action sequences.

Hmm ... lemme know if there were subtitles or if it was badly dubbed. Not a big fan of dubbage.

don't worry. For this movie, you won't be paying attention to the lines. At least for this movie, you'll actually want dubbing, cause you won't want to take your eyes off the continuous ass whoopin goin on. According to some reviews I've read, this is one amazing non-stop action bonanza. I'm leaving in a couple hours to see it. Can't wait.

I have it on DVD. Pretty cool action scenes, but keep in mind that it is a movie with a lot of wires. So, if you're not into guys jumping from building to building (a la Crouching Tiger) you might not like it. However, the girl is realllllllly cute. :D

I won't say much. JUST GO AND SEE IT! Whether you are a fan of wire-fu or not, if you're amused at all by good action, you're gonna love this. At points (like the last fight scene) it gets funny, but overall, 90% of the time amazing and POWERFUL martial arts pack this movie up to the point where the melodrama is totally acceptable. Jackie Chan may be able to make his fights starkly realistic, but this guy can certainly make a fight fun and exciting!! You know it could never happen, but it just KICK ASS FUN! And it was subtitled jujubeez, but as I predicted it often got in the way cause I had to read and admire the action at the same time. I give it a 9.5 out of 10.

Yeah leon. I didn't know it came out back in '93. I'll wait for the American official DVD release though, cause it'll have a DTS track I believe, and one thing that made the fights so exciting were the powerful exploding sound effects of the impacts. I was at the edge of my seat the whole time.

Dood Chop Sockey Flicks are like pr0n0s,

You don't watch them for the plot or the catchy dialog, you're watching it for the action!

Yes, but you think people could sit through endless hours of subtitles?

Legend of Condor Heroes, anyone? :D

Just watched it again! :D
it was better this time cause I knew the story and instead of reading the subtitles, I was able to concentrate on the action. damn it's good. I just watched the DVD too and it's not nearly as good as watching it in the theater. You really need the thundering sound effects to feel the action.

i got it from my gf..shes making copies for me. Her mom bought it in Chinatown here in New York. Im sure you can buy it at any chines music store. Its like 33 vcd's im on number 5 right now. I dont remember the special effects being so hokey tho. It comes in a set with 11 or 12 discs per set. I think it was like 40 bucks a series..with 3 series, thatll be 120..but thats not counting the series with a then young Andy Lau, those are 2 sets for 80..Im sure you can haggle the price with them if you buy them all.

Is that the one where the male student falls in love with his teacher, who is a total babe, but that is a no-no? And the film is over 30 VHS tapes?

You apparently wouldn't be able to... :bigmouth:

So I made a big deal out of subtitles and bad Mandarin dubbage, but I finally rented this, and it turned out to be in Cantonese anyway :D, so all I can say is ...

OMG it was so much fun to watch! The fight scenes were mesmerizing, and whether you needed the subtitles or not, the story was simply great. Go forth and rent! :thumb:

Well, I finally got around to watching the DVD. I thought it was pretty good, although kinda cheesy. My friends didn't like it, but they are dumb, so don't worry about them.
