That was an absolutely horrible movie! There were almost NO good points to that entire thing. Scuse me if this should be in S/NSS or Entertainment. lol Geez, what a waste of $10. :(
(edit: Oh, and next time, *I* pick the movie and NOT my husband. He didn't like it either...)

lol Younger crowd? I'm only 24. And I wouldn't recommend that ANYONE under the age of 17 see it.

oh by the way. Here's a website I ALWAYS check out before watching a movie. In my opinion it's the best and most reliable source for info on a movie's quality, cause it gives statistics of the opinions of many many many actual movie critics from all over the country. It definitely beats trusting a random friend's recommendation. Of course everybody has different taste, and it won't pick the perfect movie for you everytime, but for me it's been the most reliable so far.

** as you can see from the general consensus at rotten tomatoes, Training Day was strong in it's characters' chemistry and their performances, but not in terms story and coherency. Do you think that's why you and your hubby might not have liked it, Jenny?

bah Jen, we all know your weird - thats why you didnt like it :P :heh:
I loved it. Its a very serious movie, and kinda disturbing, but its a well scripted, well directed, movie that just wraps you into itself. In the end, you end up hating and liking the badguy, but liking the goodguy more. Its a powerful movie. Not for the weak of disposition ;)

Oh, that's very true. The story was well written, well acted, etc. It was just way too gory and dark for my taste. I had a VERY hard time with Denzel Washington as a bad guy. We were confused the entire movie with a lot of things, but yeah, Nano, we found ourselves liking him and hating him all the time.

I liked it. I like it cuz it was different and they broke so many movie rules that it kept you on edge. There hasn't been amovie like it for a long time. Movies have been lame and mundane lately. nice to add a little spice to it. If it's any consolation JEnny, my girlfriend didn't care for it. Yes, it is distrubing. But good movie making.

i thought the movie was great. it's one of the more entertaining ones i've seen all year,...
it WAS dark, a bit gory,... but overall, i thought denzel did a kick butt job of playing his role. some of my more artsy friends had good things to say as well,... but i don't remember all those words that they used. *hehehe*
