ok, with all these mention-ings of stupidbzu, xsiled, and others...i was wondering, when you get banned, they most likely block your IP to prevent you from re-registering right?

that i understand, if you have dsl, or cable with static IP's that'll work, but how does IP blocking work for those of us on dial up, cause most ISP's provide a new IP upon logging online. how does that work huh GAM?

it is possible to block a superset of ip addresses, i.e. to insert a wildcard for one of the values...

for example: blocking 192.168.0.* would block all addresses that started with those 3 octets. When you use dialup, you generally dial to the same number that only has a certain amount of addresses to distribute. Therefore, about 3-4 of the wildcard blocks would remove the ability of the jerkwad (or whatever the case may be) to re-register.

Of course, this can be thwarted by using a proxy, but that's why trollbusters bust trolls.
Why, are you thinking of doing something ban-worthy? :D

anyways, i'd be smart enough of doin it so as to not lead any trails to myself.

either way i got a PM from the GAM clearifying how they do it. i was scared i tell yea....i'm still shivering from their almight powers

I miss TLG. I don't always agree with his opinions and generally I don't agree with his opinions pertaining to the Middle East, but he always had some interesting points and useful legal advice. Although after reading his thread about the guy and the videotape I have always been kind of scared of him.

well, my friend and i had a buddy we once wanted to play a practical joke to...like place a personnel fetish ad online (ala hackers)...since we had access to different computers that didn't require us to leave any pertinent info that would lead to us, we coulda pulled it off. to bad we're just lazy.

who me? yea, you're probably right, i'm not the best-est of person to tick off, although i don't have a short temper/fuse so it's not all that bad.

we just wanted to play that practical joke cause the guy was a dick..won't go into detials, it'll be a whole new thread.
