VLADIVOSTOK, Far East -- This week, a mob of angry Pakistanis did something that any rational person who opposes the bombing of Afghanistan would do. They stormed a Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet in Islamabad, pelted it with rocks and burned it down, chanting "God is great."
I think I speak for billions of people around the planet when I say that I, too, always feel the greatness of God when I stone poultry-frying establishments or hurl chicken wings at riot police. I also sense the presence of the Divine One whenever I ignite vats of Crisco brand lard, and I feel as if I score a victory for the liberation of Palestine when I dump American food products such as Spam or Pringles in the streets and stomp the contents into mush.
