SON OF A...after being clean for 6 months, I fell of the wagonm and started playing The Sims agian!

How many of you folks find yourselves playing this game in place of breathing?

Once again I find myself spending hours downloading new stuff for my sims to buy and play with, new stuff to ware, build new places to live! When does the hurting stop? I will never break free of this horible game! It seeks me out! I see it in my dreams! When people talk to me all I hear is sim-talk!

Ooo, The Sim Resource has a new dinning set to download...well see ya!

as for me I haven't tried the game, but my friend, she's would marry the game if it was possible. Once she spent a whole Sunday "training" her sims to each go to their own assigned beds, if they don't she would lock them in the bathroom until they starve as a lesson. Anyway, after a whole day of doing this and thinking that the sims can learn she then later found out the sims can't "learn"...

i was looking forward to simsville too, i hope they bring back some form of it for people without broadband connecitons. i remember playing the sims for hours, i cant imagine playing sims online that long with a crappy connection. simsville would be a cool sequal for the sims.

I got tired of the sims after about 3 months and began to kill my characters off.

If you invite every single friend over to your house, have them all meet in a large room (say, the living room) (call the neighbors into the room with the "call" button). Then, build a wall where there was a door (so they are all blocked into that one room). Load the room with all of the furniture from the house (put it anywhere it fits). Then, put a bookshelf on either side of the fireplace. Have one of your sims light the fireplace (may take a couple of tries). The furniture will then begin to catch on fire and so will the sims. Later, if you have anyone remaining put a barbaque grill in the middle of the room and hit the fast forward button. Watch in wonder at how they pee on the floor, sleep standing up, and build up piles and piles of trash.

BigJon, you are one twisted person. not that i havent intentionally killed off my sims once or twice, its just that you put way too much thought and planning into that.

no kidding! I've also had a few "accidents" with my sims in the past. Anywhere from drowning to being burned to death. Oh the handyman accidentally died on me so whenever I needed something fixed, his ghost would come and do it. :heh:

Hot date is coming out this month I think. I will have to go out and get it. My sims need to go out an have some fun away from home being that I think they know I've been trying to kock them off for the fun of it.

Hapoo...you're a perv.

On the topic of killing Sims, My main character has been married 11 times. When you get married to a person who lives alone, you get to absorb their 20 grand...and then kil them. My preferred means of murdering ex-wives involves going swimming, but forgetting to place a ladder in the pool. I kept all of the tombstones too, so I get a handful of ghosts ever night. Same guy has full stat bars, expensive items, about 150K in the bank, and has never had to work a day in his life (although he does sell gnomes now and then for 100+ a pop).

I think I'm getting Sims Hot Date fro Christmas, if this turns out to be true then I will be say good bye to my life away from my desk for about 3 months. From what I hear, Hot Date is HOT for us Sim fans.

I think one of the big draws to the game is you can create sims that are simular to the folks you know and you cna enjoy killing them over and over when they tick you off. Not to mension I get a big kick out of have my Sim crafted after me and watch him work jobs that are so much better than mine! "RIGHT ON LITTLE SIM DUDE! You're livin the dream!" Crap! my sim lives better than I do! If and when the sims becomes and online game, you can expect 60% of the world population to suddenly disappear! It will get so bad that companies will start hiring the sim version of you instead for it will be the only way to get you to work on stuff. One day they will figure out how to plug the sims right into our heads so we can just lay in bed living our lives in a sim world! BY GOD WHAT HAVE WE DONE?!

I haven't played the Sims but my brother works at Babbages and they are giving away a cd with extra Hot Date characters when you buy the Hot Date expansion.

Alright so now I'm playing the new Hot Date for TheSims and I have to say...I'm done. This new addition to the sim family just isn't enough to keep me into the game anymore. So I'm killing of those little sim suckers and using the disks as costers for my pop.

Okay so I can do it! I'll play the freakin game anyways! BAH!

I'm totally looking forward to the Sims Online. I think ti'd be fun as hell. Let us know how it is as I unfortunately didn't get chosen for the testing.

cheapie
10-10-2002, 07:50 AM
I was under the impression that if you were a tester you wouldn't have to buy the software. wrong.

"The Sims Online Founders™ program is created exclusively for The Sims Online Play Testers to reward them for helping to shape the game's world. This program will offer several benefits, the greatest one being that Play Testers will be able to keep the characters, houses, and objects they created during the Play Test after the game launches. However, Play Testers must purchase The Sims Online and register by December 4, 2002 to keep their characters and accounts intact."

apmiller
10-10-2002, 08:35 AM
Ouch! You would think they would treat the testers with a game so they go out and free advertise how great their game is, how cool the company is for leting them have a copy of the game for all their hard testing, and just all around keep folks happy little customers...

Memo
10-16-2002, 11:36 AM
I believe most companies make you purchase the software if you beta test. At least that's the way they've always done it with me in the best when I tested out.

i got the discs yesterday and one of them was scratched and wouldn't work!!!! i sent them an email and they responded within 15 minutes and said they would ship me another set. i got a message today saying that they had shipped them. i'm not real happy that it was scratched but i am impressed with their customser service.
