View Full Version : Cooling the Harddrives

I have two 7200 hard drives in the 3.5" cage above the intake fan on my Enlight 7237. They get stinking hot and need to be cooled.
I need to know if buying seperate 5.75" mounts for my hard drives will suffice in giving them room to release their heat. Or should I buy a bay cooler along with the mounts? I don't want to spend over $50. So getting two IStorms or its expensive brethren is out of the question.

Description
The 3DCOOL.COM Twin Turbo is probably the most powerful cooling device known to man. These are dual 92mm fans spinning on two tiers at 2100RPM. We blow dry our dog with these. They are incredibly powerful and severly fast. There is nothing that spits out more air than the Twin Turbo! You can have the fans blowing air out from the top or the bottom of your PC. Installation takes under 30 seconds. This is one product you will wish you had when you bought your steamy PC!
For adjustable fans in the 5.25" bay, check out our Bay Freezer.

Yeah I got a Quantum Fireball that really holds to its name, but I put one of these on and it cooled it right down. Works great.

Why don't you just get a bigger case and an extra case fan?

I use two Enermax HD cooling fans, one on each Western Digital 60 Gig 7200rpm HD (RAID 0). The fans are very quiet and do an excellent job keeping the drives cool. They have a 90mm fan and the frame can be mounted in either a 3.5" bay or 5.25" bay. For only $6 each, you can't beat it!

That's why I got my case since it has a fan to cool down the hard drives!
