That job blows. All technical, not one once of creative freedom.

i worked for a few weeks as a receptionist at a dot com... this was about 3 years ago... and it was horrible!

they wanted me to do EVERYTHING, which would be fine, except for the fact that they paid me a whopping $7 an hour.

actually, i prolly would have stayed and just demanded more money, but my dream job (at that time) which intially i hadn't got called me back and offered me the postion two months later.

so i quit.

I spent a summer surveying in rural Northport, Michigan. I spent 10 hours per day in 18 inches of water, surrounded by a cloud formation of horseflies, gnats, and giant mosquitos.

Per the pet peeve thread, this sounds like my own personal hell.

I spent 8 months working in a corrugated steel building in Glendale Arizona. Outside temp averaged 105 degrees, plus 10 inside.

My job was to use a drill press to cut holes in 3 ft. long 8 in. diameter cardboard tubes. Four holes on one side, four on the other.

I had to wear a filter mask over my mouth and nose and was constantly covered in cardboard dust.

I did this 8 hours a day for $5 an hour. And I won't even get started on my a-hole boss and his dog with the bladder control problem.

I've only had 3 jobs. I worked as a bank teller. Not a bad job at all in high school. I worked for my dad when I was a kid (like 12 years old) in his office. Not a bad job either considering I didn't do crap and it was all under the table.

So I guess my worst job is also my current job. The front desk of my dorm. The people I work with are cool, it's just the residents that are freakin' morons. Not to mention we get paid only $6.88 and there's NO pay scale (ie no raises)

My friend is the manager of Ledo's in Sandy Spring and most of my friends have worked there at some point. They loved it because we got to steal beer from the restaraunt before closing.

I hate Ledo's. I don't understand why people from Md like that place so much. Where you working at the one in Hyattsville?

My worst job was washing dishes in a country bar/restaurant. I was 14 making $5.00/hour. I worked from 5:00 PM - 1:30AM every Friday and Saturday. I think my parents let me do it in an effort to teach me the importance of school. I did it for a year and a half until wrestling season came around and I used it as an excuse to quit. I still get chills when I hear Achey Breaky Heart. I have had to dig into a septic field for another job and that still was a better experience than washing dishes.

It was called the "Country Inn" located in scenic central New Jersey. It has changed owners and names now though.

When I was 16, my dad "hooked me up" with a summer job at a tea-packing factory across the street from his company. I popped 40 tea bags into a bigger bag, sealed the bags, folded boxes, tossed the bags into the boxes, and ran the boxes through the shrink wrap machine. 'Twas manual, unskilled labor ... 40 hours/week at $4.25/hour.

For five hours every week, I got to "work" with the owner's sons (8 and 10 at the time). Basically, this meant watching them do homework and fielding their questions about the birds & the bees. "We have the Playboy channel at home. Have you seen it? We watched last night and saw these girls doing nasty things!!" Don't kids say the darndest things?

LOL!!

my worst job was when I was working at my old HS as a janitor. So mr. handy dandy sho.gun gets to vacuum the halls (I am the vacuum master by the way) and for 1/2 a year he had to clean the girls bathroom cuz the person that did it quit. If you guys haven't been in a female restroom, i'm telling you now that it gets pretty disgusting in there. The grossest part is cleaning those boxes they mount next to the toilets for maxi pads and such. ugh...:puke:

I worked at Mickey D's for a couple of summers. It wasn't too bad actually since I was 14 when I started.

My worst job and my best job was in the Army. When I was in Haiti I had to stir flaming $h!t with just a gas mask on. That filters the toxic stuff but not the smell! :puke:

the worst job I had was working for my oldest brother (who's a taxidermist) when I was in high school...I got to hand stitch backings onto bear skins so they could be mounted on felt rugs...it used to rip the crap out of my hands trying to push a big huge needle through that tough hide. Even thimbles didnt help.

I worked at a Home for Challenged youth. They were physically and mentally challenged. It was NOT meant for me. I think I worked there for like 4 weeks.

It was when we had to restrain a 17 year old because the voices in his bed were telling him to be bad. It took 4 people to hold him down. That was my cue to get out.

:eek3: :umm:
