you type of connection do you have?

i know when i was talking to teh directPC rep, that this happens when the bandwidth you're getting is faster than they have benchmarks for..so it shows up as "infinity" i know that the sprint pcs microwave gets up to 4 mbs...so that's cool

I've seen some pretty good download results using my cable connections, especially when the downloaded file seems to get cached in the providers proxy server. :) I've seen T3 speeds reported.

My best "real" download was when I was updating my Textbridge software, and a 40MB download took something like 8 seconds. I could almost hear my computer sucking in the electrons. ;)

Looks like you just refreshed the page. When you do that you already have the data, it's cached localy and you get an unbelievable score.
So what is your real score?

These tests aren't that accurate though because it only uses a 100k test file. Try www.dslextreme.com for speed testing, they have different servers (east & west coast) and it's more accurate.

They have a nice test. It says your ethernet at UCLA is getting .8Mbs outside connection. That's booty compared to what we're supposed to be getting. I think we hav the worst IT dept of any school in the country. It's ridiculous.

I got 2368kbps. A little higher than usual, but about right.

this is supposed to be a 1Mbit Wireless connection we have at work.

Needless to say, i think we exceded the limitations of the provider (we dont have a router on it like were suppoed to that has a max bandwidth of 1.5Mbit.)

BTW, that K-Bytes, not Bits.

Say what?? What is with that upload. That is like 6.1Mb/sec. That donwload sucks if it is supposed to be 125Kb/sec

nah, at that time nobody was uploading anything to us, but about 4 or 5 people were sure downloading in a helluva hurry. :D

We can open up say 6 connections to 6 different FTP servers (or news server or whatever) and they will all max out around 105KB/s. so total that to 630KB/s. And thats all we've tried.

BTW, its running through a little Linksys 1port router, w/ the 10Megabit WAN port on it, so i think were getting close to maxing that little thing out :D
