All i can say is i cant wait until i get one. Many people say an apple is just a toy, not a computer.
I beg to differ. Insteas of intel inside, apple has "Performance inside" and thats all that eally matters.
Now here is where everyone else starts to bash apple. I know its going to happen.

until they stop making them look like candy I won't take them seriously. Sure the cpu is powerfull, but what good is it when you have no options? no competition?! I want to choose my OWN motherboard, cpu, graphics card, etc... not have one handed to me by apple. And for gods sake... add another freakin' mouse button!

Its like any other prebuilt system sorry. You cant ask dell for an epox mobo. They give you video card choices. There are tons of choices in video cards in the after market as well. Hell you can get a hardware DV encoder if you want.
Apple is meant to run on power pc. They give you 2 options. G3 and G4. Thats almost like deciding between a duron and a t-bird.
2 Button mouse is a big issue. Hell if you want one bad enough, buy a optical usb. it will work great.
A g4 system doesnt look like candy. Apple has more than imacs.
So lets sum it up:
2 types of cpu's
Radeon, Geforce 3, Geforce 2 all options
IDE or SCSI drive options
CD options
Looks like apple has the same type of choices dell gateway or any other custom computer vendor will give you.

which is EXACTLY why i've never purchased anything from dell, gateway or other custom computer vendor! If i can't make it myself, its no good. Why pay too much for a computer in the first place just to turn around and gut it cause you want better hardware in it.

Actually, I have seen 450 MHz g4's boot virtual PC windows 2000 in about the same time as a dell laptop at 850 MHz. Its sad that a non windows machine can boot windows faster than a windows machine.

That pretty much sums up my feelings toward the iMac when I first saw it.
