Is it possible to watch american tv shows (ER, west wing, new trek thing etc) on a bloody fast internet connection. I am not talking about someone taping a programme then sticking it on the net, but actually buying them? Anyone know any companies/websites that do this?

Thanks

for some reason.. i don't think your american...

I know of one place that does this, but it's an american company, and they are not offered overseas. Besides i don't think you can get the "new" shows out... networks wanna suck them dry of their marketability, then put them on syndication, then send them to the overseas ppl

(ok not to be bitter, which i know this will come out to be.. sorry)

If it is an internet company then surely it isn't american only.

I don't understand how, even if I misunderstood you, I would be bitter. American shows, the good ones, appear here very quickly, some just the week after. You spread 6 months of tv over (I think) about 8/9 months, leaving gaps for repeats or whatever (it must drive you guys nuts). That doesn't happen here. For example. buffy, angel, friends, er, all start in Jan, then are shown every week, so by the last month or so, it is neck and neck. Then a load of new shows fill the rest of the year. I just moved to uni, where I only have terrestial tv (5 channels) and the programmes take a little longer to appear on this. It doesn't really matter I suppose. I will see them eventually, the gaps between seasons are the same, and it is not as if they are topical and only work when they are made.

Not to be offensive to anyone, but is watching an hour program on a computer monitor very comfortable? I think I'd be bored, uncomfortable, and just weirded out after like 15 minutes of it. Plus it's bad for eyes. And why not just watch the bloody television?

$49 monthly fee plus $400 worth of equipment to watch on your tv. No thanks, I'll stick to my aluminum foil antenna
