I have a 8x 4x 32x iomega burner. i noticed that it only overburns like 3mb. when i use ez cd creator 5 it says capicity for 80min cd is 703mb. it won't let me even burn anything more than that. is there other sofware where i can overburn a lot more than just 2mb? ive heard people saying that they have overburned up to 730mb. would really like to learn how to do that. thanks.

NERO (www.nero.com)

Easy CD-Creator doesn't actually let you overburn, in fact I'm surprised it let you do it at 703MB. The best software for over-burning, as hapoo said, is Nero Burning Rom. Also a lot cheaper than Easy CD Creator...

I'm not sure, because I've never tried to overburn beyond the actuall capacity of the CDRs themselves, but I am using an older version of Easy CD Creator (I only use it for data though). Anyway, to make a long story short, the program only recognizes 700 MB CDRs as 650 MB, but I never have problems burning up to 700 MB. Like I said, I never go over the capacity that the disk is rated, but for some reason Adaptec still allows me to burn despite not recognizing the proper disk size. You might want to just experiment a couple of times with what you have... but I am in agreement, Nero is the best all around burning program.

I do remember reading that Adaptec doesn't support overburning because it could cause damage to your drive, but I've never heard any actual reports of that happening.
