I was reminded of this date from my brother-in-law, who is a geology professor. According to the Archbishop James Ussher (1581-1656) who established a Biblical chronology in which the creation of the Earth took place on October 22 in the year 4004 BCE, making today birthday #6005! So whether or not it's true, have a drink to celebrate the rock that we all live on.

I thought the Earth's birthday was in April. Why did we get so drunk on Earth Day, then?

Don't worry we still have 13 days :) if we are talking all historical here, we might just as well remember that we now follow Gregorian calendar and James Ussher calculated it using Julian calendar :D
