Yeah, Im just waiting on my personal mechanic to get home so he can fix it.
I've been waiting for about 10 minutes, now, he is taking to long, he should be home.
Where are mechanics when you need them

Correct me if Im wrong, but new cars have problems, too. And there about 4x as expensive to fix. I think i'll stick with what I got

Too bad Angelina Jolie isn't really a mechanic. Man she looked hot in Gone in 60 Seconds. That's one mechanic I wouldn't mind being married to. Plus she's supposed to be a freak in bed. :chef: :winkie:

If so, then I guess you just gotta expect these kinda things in lieu of a payment.
If not, then I guess that just sucks if you didn't get the extended warranty...
the car is a 78 Malibu, and yes its paid for
Im not complaining about it breaking, I was just letting you guys know.
This is considered my project car anyway, I have another one...but I just like my old school.

car places will try to not cover a lot of stuff lots of times. my ex wife used to get bilked whenever she took in her toyota, until i started handling it. since she's my ex wife, she's prolly getting bilked again right now :|

9.99 for the ball joint and thats about it.
The dude that was suppose to do it got home late....so I did it earlier this morning, didnt want to do it though, I would have rather paid somebody.

Sometimes? The only time I think they wouldn't be easier to fix is if you can't get the parts any more.

It was a very big problem....my lower A-Frame was sitting on the ground due to my ball joint breaking

Thats the purpose of salvage yards....for hard to find parts and other accessories

I dont think I have ever had to spend that much for anything on my car, and if I did I would probably go back to driving the other car, anyway

Oh, I know about the boneyards. But when you have to go hunt down and disassemble to get the part you need, the "ease of repair" factor isn't quite as favorable.
RE: repair shop $$$ - if I have a vehicle in the shop and get out spending less than $200, it is almost a cause for celebration.

I do most of the work on my car by myself and try to stay away from the repair shop...with new cars its kind of hard to do that. So when my other car is sick I simply send her to the hospital
