I saw Tool play in StL friday. Holy sh*t, what a show! I've never seen anything like it. They modeled their playlist similar to the new album, Lateralus. Everything just seemed to flow from one song to the next. They played for two hours and only spoke to the crowd twice. I just sat there and watched them play while the A/V screens showed clips from their videos in sync with the music.
I can't really explain why it was the best show I've seen. It was just mesmorizing. Kind of like a 2 hour musical art show. A buddy of mine who's been to a lot more concerts and is a lot older said it was the best show he's ever seen. (And he had NO idea what Tool played)
If you have a chance, go see this band while they're on this tour.
