so i get home last night plan on a little gaming and some sleep. When i left earlier it was working fine. I click on the game icon and keep getting a retry/cant find disc error. Try a few things(check disk,etc) and no go. I go to the device manager and dont see my cd rom. Go to add hardware and find this misssing device:
shuttle epat external ATAPI adapter.
I try to add it and get this error mssg:
the device is either not present, not working properly or doesnt have the drivers installed.
I check and the proper drivers are installed. My cables all seem to be in place.
Now i find all disk drives are running just not reading(hp cd burner/floppy).
Do i have bad cables maybe some virus or......?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
ps: yes other person uses comp and yes this person has found ways of making other comps sick, though that person denies doing anything other than surfing and IM.
