my computer was pimp, then i got the new one, and named it pimpdaddy. when pimpdaddy goes away, tho, i'll have to rename the old one "abandoned crack ho" or something.

my router/firewall's name is the assigned @home name...beh!
however my soon to be linux webserver has been dubbed guernica
and the win2k workstation, well....i'll call it, "slow and inefficient" or maybe "underachiever"
seriously though, i'm thinking of a naming convention for my LAN...originally wanted to use all simpsons names, but i have a feeling that isn't all that unique.
could use names like: Jetta, Golf, GTi (for the badass machine), Passat (for the middle aged machine)
hehehehe....i'll think of something...

Yeah, they renamed by system when I switched (forcibly) over from mediaone to @home. Before that it was BIGSYS because it was my power system (well, it's just a 1G Tbird running at 1.155 or something). I guess I still like 6 character "node names" from my old DECnet days. :)
I can't believe none of the young bucks around here picked "dude"...
Mine is Artoo, btw.

Never thought about naming my computer, really.
If I did, though, I'd probably just call it Bitch.

Back in our school lab, we were allow to name our computer every year. The first year, we had all our computers named after characters from Godzilla movies. The second year, we named ours after shakesperian characters. That was a lot of fun :P

Within Digital Equipment there were always some creative names. What got especially interesting was when several systems were "clustered" together - there was a cluster name and individual system names. There were beer-named clusters, but one of my favorites was the "Stooges" cluster with systems named Larry, Moe, Curley, and Shemp.

If I could control my computer with voice commands I would call it "Mistress," I mean we both know who wears the pants in the relationship.
"Yes Mistress here's more ram" or "No Mistress I would never bring a laptop from work into the house." I've spent more on this current computer than on my last three girlfriends combined!

I've always named my comps paquito. :D
Instead of saying "My Computer," my desktop icon says "Me llamo paquito."
I just think it's a fun name to say.

Recently my computer has held the titles of "Sidewinder", "ProMinx", "Anarchy", and "Omni" (the last 2 are products of my re-surfacing Anarchy Online addiction). I might have to settle for "Bob" though, in honor of the old Sega Genesis game...
