View Full Version : does anyone else....................
get like really tired in cold weather? ok...we've already established that i am a big wimp when it comes to colder weather. i am used to san diego weather...which means that "cold" is suddenly 60 degrees or colder. i actually wore socks for the past 2 nights!
anyhow...i have seen a difference in my energy level...and a nap ALWAYS sounds good. is this how it is in general? or is it just me? i am used to getting four to six hours of sleep a night, but lately it's been more like eight or nine.
maybe it's just your old age catching up with you :D

i do feel a little more tired in the cold weather. i think part of that is when the cold weather gets here, the days are much shorter. also, when its cold, i wish i never had to get out of my warm and cozy bed and the idea of going back there is always a perk.

I agree with theorangeone. Lack of sunlight makes me feel tired.

When its cold, your body eats up more energy trying to maintain your body temperature. That probably has something to do with it. Plus the sun goes down earlier, which I'm sure can trigger a psychological reaction as well.
maybe it's the psychological thing, cuz even when i'm warm, i will feel tired if i know it's cold outside. i can have the heater on and stuff.....still tired.

ou body also uses energy whenever you are too hot as well. It all depends on your bmr.
for psuchology, there is something called seasonal affective disorder, otherwise known as SAD, which is bascially depression during winter months

my theory:
Every fall...when it starts getting cold, I start eating more. I get FAT. Why??? Because my 'animal instincts' tell me it's time to hibernate. So, I get Fat, and tired...and I just want to sleep...
