Well, some people might party over the weekend, but as far as I know, the trick-or-treating is always on October 31.

halo - sacred (or somethign like that)
ween - uhh, something like "moving away from" or something.

i.e. the holiday ain't religious, and shouldn't be celebrated in churches as if it were.

(no really, i'm not making this up.)
