What? Nobody else decided to post about the Diamondbacks unadulterated butt-kicking of the Yankees yesterday???

Well, I'm getting so sick of everyone ready to automatically hand over the WS title to the Yankees. I think this D-Backs team has a lot of heart and is gonna give y'all a run!

Hoo-Ray D-backs!

Looks like they're about to go up 2-0 in the series. I am glad that Mark Grace is finally getting a shot at the big one. (I just wish he was doing it with the Cubs.)

Boston got what they deserved when they took Bill Buckner off the Cub's hands. :heh:

Dbacks are up 2-0 now(yay) but it's not over by a long shot. As much as I can't stand the guy, Roger Clemens lives for World Series games. I'm not sure if he starts the next game but if he does, it might be the reversal of momentum that the Yanks need. I wonder if the Yankee fans here, especially YanksFanRy, why you don't start Clemens against Schilling or Johnson? In such a big series, don't you put your best against their best?

Yeah, the Rocket starts game 3 for the Yanks (against Brian Anderson). Of course, one site pointed out that the D-Backs can win with the series victories in the games started by Schilling and Johnson.

Jason Lee (first baseman) tried to convince his aunt (my mom's best friend) to hook him up with my sister. This was just shortly after he signed his contract, so it's weird how he didn't change at all when he started making bank...

im kinda going for both teams at this point but i have to point out the type of crowds each team draws. arizona is drawing more of an event crowd like a circus or any other large event would while NY draws baseball fans. hell you dont go to the bronx fer a circus.

Clemens is going to be pitching hurt, and therefore will fail miserably. Id much rather, for yankees fans, see El Duque on the mound. But being I hate the yankees, I will be happy to see clemens get his ass handed to him

Let me add this: all the talk about rooting for the yankees is rooting for new york city...BS

Its still baseball, and I still hate the yankees (not as much as the evil SF Giants though)

If (when?) the Diamonbacks win, I hope they don't build on their success the way the Marlins did after they won the series.

I don't think that can be called "building".

Markel,
I've been saying all along the championship games that the D'Baks remind me of the Marlins of 97. If they do win, and they MAY, although being a diehard Yankees fan since I could remember I dont think they will, but IF they do... it will be interesting to see if they follow down the same path after the rings are handed out.

But I'm not counting the Yankees out just yet... a lot of people did after the 2nd Oakland game in NY for the ALCS and look how THAT turned out. Hopefully it will be a bit more interesting than the ass-kicking the Yankees have been enduring these past two nights though. I will be watching Tuesday night.

Well, It's unlikely that it will be completely like the Marlins. We don't have a lot of "rent-a-players". Johnson and Schilling will both be back next year as well as Luis Gonzales, Matt Williams, Craig Counsell (just resigned) and a bunch of others.

Now in 2003, it may be a different story as several players will have their contracts expire, and this team is hurtin' for money, as an expansion team they don't share in TV revenue until next year or 2003, I believe. They have also raped their farm system to trade for players like Schilling so the future is not so bright. But they have done this to win for now, so hopefully it will pay off!

Go D-Backs!

What about them? The Yankees swept them in '96 and '99.

So maybe the Yanks current dynasty is sliding, things are going to change next year. No rational human can say that the Yankees suck. Tell me you hate them all you want, but they've four out of the five past World Series, including three in a row. If they suck, then every other team must MAJORLY suck.

if the dbax win, more power to 'em.

Completely agree...

same thing with music...

like limp bizkit.

Whats up with this? Fred durst wants to help out by toning it down?
I mean thats great and all but Sep 11 didnt have ne thing to do with limp bizkit and limp bizkit didnt have ne thing to do with Sep 11.

All this toning it down is ruining their music, along with whats left of the band (their bass guy left:( )

Go D-Backs!

This is EXACTLY why I think they're a lot like the Marlins of 97... they get all the greats for now, foresaking any possibility of a future, not caring, just wanting to win... I know its not rent-a-players but it is a very similar concept IMO. But hey, who asked!
:)
