I sincerely hope that was an intentional Boogie Nights reference.

Imaging is important. It's not the amount of speakers, or amount of power, but it's all about how acoustics are affected by the environment. I don't think Honda Motor Corp. does audio system acoustic research and development execpt for cars that have "premium audio" systems.

So, in other words, you really can't do anything about fidelity without changing the whole thing setup.

hey DF...
could you refer me to some 'decent 10's' on ubid that would run me ~100 bucks total? (yes i'm a cheapo)

thanks

on edit:
hmmm, i'm seeing quite a few that are at the minimum bid but need the reserve price to win..

About the cheapest line I would recommend going with is MTX... their "Thunder" series 6000 and above are pretty nice, however you are gonna pay a little bit more than the $100 ceiling you have set.

In case you might want it.. here is a link to Digital Wavez (http://www.digitalwavez.com/caraudio.htm), one of my "favorite" car audio websites, they have very good prices and excellent customer service (they even extend the manufacturer's warranties by 1 year).

They have the MTX 10" Thunder 6000s (http://www.digitalwavez.com/cgi-bin/virtualcatalog/CatalogMgr.pl?cartID=b-6610&SearchField=description&SearchFor=MTXT6104&template=htx/itemdetail.htx&hdr=MTXT6104) for $89.99 each, which is FAR below the normal $140 MSRP.

Too bad you are not near Indy, I am actually selling my old setup of 2 12" Alpine Bass 200 Pro subwoofers in a cabinet for $200... but I think shipping would be a mutha!

REally?!?!?!?
I have a friend in Kentucky :) and he's supposed ot visit soon :D
