So I just played it for the first time today. I'd been resisting because I didn't want to get addicted (it took me a while to get off CS). Damn, DOD is fun. I like the quick action. With more revisions it will be a great game. It'd be nice to have more people playing it too so there's more servers.

What do y'all think of DOD?

I like it a lot. The next version is due out soon and is gonna add heavy machines. For example the German gun, I cant remember the name, could fire over 3000 rounds a minute. They are gonna also add a fog sprite. Sounds like fun!!

I have it, but the first time I played it some sniper kept on pecking at me everytime I respawn, stopped playing that ever since. I'd love to face that sniper in TFC though.

Heh. . . I just played it. . . damnit. I got over playing cs too. But this is way beyond cs. I don't know exactly what it is but its just too much fun.

i'm gonna go read about day of defeat...mebbe find myself an evaluation copy.

i don't know what happened to me, years ago i was all about PC gaming...now, all i do is mess with my linux box, read G|A and play madden 2002 and nba live 2002 on my PS2...

anyone have some advice to get me back into the world of PC gaming? like that one secret magical game that will make everything wonderful again in my life that lacks first person shooters and internet game play?

but, i think it's totally worth it. if you get half life, you get to play two of the best mods out -- counter-strike and dod. i'd be happy to lend you my copy, but the copy protection is pretty strict (keys and such that authenticate with sierra). half-life should be pretty inexpensive these days.

after you buy it, check out http://www.counter-strike.net and http://www.dayofdefeatmod.com. Another decent, and underplayed, mod is Firearms, http://www.firearmsmod.com.

woo hoo! i have halflife...somewhere in my mess. a friend gave me his copy (a real one) because he stumbled upon a freebie somehow...

uh oh....there might be hope for me yet...

this could be real bad, b/c i know how i am...and if i get into gaming...i'll need to overhaul my rig.

i hate this place, i hate it i hate it i hate it

at least, when i'm buying a geforce3, faster drives and a bigger monitor i'll save alot of loot
