Just as I am finally getting over the last show I went to (Aug 14th at the Wiltern in L.A.), I attented two more shows the past two evenings. Halloween in San Diego and Nov 1st in Irvine. What can I say but AWESOME!!

I left the San Diego show thinking "UNBELIEVABLE SHOW" but even that was up-ended by last nights performance.

Maynard noted that "this is for all you hollywood types in the crowd, can I get you anything else? a cup of wine? a pillow for your chair?" They played TICKS AND LEECHES! 2nd time ever theyve played that live (correct me if Im wrong) and maynard was into it. He had to sit down to scream into the mic. Although Aloke Dutta did not show like in August, they played the Salival version of Pu**** (they did the album version at the SD show). The singer from Tricky singing (Jamacain rapping) during Reflection did not fit at all, but I was able to focus on the musc and tune him out. An extra drummer came out for Triad and that song shows how TOOL has brought their music to the next level. The LA crowd was much more into it than the SD one, and it helped the vibe in the venue.

It seems they always save their best show for LA, as it is their hometown. I am honored to have had the opportunity to attend these shows. Might I add they played Opiate as well, and no 1992 song still sounds as new and fresh as that one. Lateralus is one of the alltime greats, and this performance just enhances it

I was at the Sand Diego show on Halloween. Tricky kind of blew. They just didn't have it. I used their set to catch a nap.
The acrobats were incredible. The show was ok. It would have been good except for the punks in front of me smoking the crap they probably call weed in front of us. Hard to concentrate with the smell of burning ragweed constantly being blown back to you. If you ever go to a concert with the intent of smoking all the way through it, please have the concideration to get some half way decent stuff.
