i remember when i had to take the sat's. had to drive 40 mins to another high school, showed up hungry as hell. the place was freezing inside... i thought i was gonna puke. have fun tomorrow passwird =P you'll do fine... post your results when they come in

Just race through to see how many questions you can answer. Who cares what kind of score you get? Just have some fun! After all, you aren't planning on going to Caltech, are you? :D

Remember, the test scoring has been dumbed down in recent years to try to encourage higher scores. I think that guarantees that more of the test takers score above average. :heh:

last tuesday there was a big test i didnt study for so i put tiny notes in my clear pen...

unfortunately the test was scantron and i wasnt ready for a pencil cheat tool so i bombed:P

i took it 96, so it was the cheasy scoring.....
if i compare it to older scoring methods....i would've prolly gotten something like a 1540 or somethin.....

but yeah, i'm with pennypinch....i was just good with standardized tests...

a) The SAT's big business now. You're talking about people (like me) that take 8 week prep courses just in preperation of the stupid thing.

b) Bigger focus now. People realize they can get into better schools just on the strength of their score. People study for it better.

c) Better understanding of what's on the test.

Yeah, good point. There IS quite a difference between being smart and being good at standardized tests, however, I maintain that anyone who scores higher than 1500 has to have SOME brains, and enough to be considered "smart." Unless of course, they figured out how to cheat on SAT, which would be quite a feat in and of itself...

If you have a twin, and he is smarter than u, he can take the test
w/ ur id...OR u and ur friend switch answer sheets or just fill in the other's info on the test day..and then your smart friend gets you a 1600, and you tell them that ur calc batteries died and u dont want the test scored, so ur friend's record wont have a bad grade..so simple..

did that...the summer before my junior year..
then i slacked off the next summer, and got my score in oct of my senior year....

berkley reject....
rice reject....
nobody wanted me cause my grades sucked bad.

yeah, that's what got me my score....
i prolly took every single SAT that was published from 88 - 96
the funny thing was that my first time taking it, i got a 710V/730M or something like that...and on all my practice tests, I never got over a 700 in verbal and i almost always got over a 750 in math....
God's blessing...that's all I can say :)

i took the SAT Is 5 freakin times. and my parents wanted me to take it yet once more. bah. took ACTs 3 times and SAT IIs 2 times. my parents spent way too much money on those tests. i got my best score the 3rd time around. got to take the cool princeton review classes though. :P
