View Full Version : my XP doesnt like Diablo 2

i try to install diablo 2, and in the middle of the install, the PC will just restart.
i did it before i reinstalled my sound card and video card driver and after, both the same problem.
what should i do?

I think you need to download a new copy. :heh:


Seriously, it has installed correctly from your cd before?

Could of sworn I saw on another board that Diablo had major problems with XP.....if I could only find the link.

Maybe you could not put such an evil OS on and then try to load Diablo.... revert back!!! save yourself

(yeah, i've never touched XP, and i don't plan to)

Ditto. I am still using 98. The windoze OSes seem to get worse and worse. I think it's time to start looking into Linux again.

I have Diablo II installed on my XP machine and it runs fine. maybe it is a bad disk or something.

ive tred many times, its screwed up on all 3 cd's

Take that copy back to the store you got it from and exchange it.

Hmm. Works fine for me in XP. Is your cd-rom set to dma? Have you tried using those CD's in a different machine?

I am not sure about hid DMA setting but I know his CDs worked beofre XP when he had 98, he would be on it non stop...


maybe he burned out the CD :heh:

ill try borrowing a cd set from my friends, and dopey i couldnt burn out that dic because i play the expansion:P
