Hey alls,

One of my partitions on my 40gig slave harddrive died on me. Its partitioned into two 20 gig, the second (e) says its not formatted under windows2k. But my windows ME dectects it fine, and so does it in dos. So I'm thinking its windows2k, so I format the OS drive (c) thats on a separate hard drive. Reinstall 2k, same thing, e drive not formatted. And again, in dos, it detects fine. So I fdisk the darn partition (e) and format it. Worked fine for about a day. Just now it went out on me again.

I've been having computer lockups, due to what I think is overheating, but now i'm unsure. Any ideas?

did you partition the e drive in ntfs form? That could be your problem.

You may have to put it down...

Well I fdisked both partitions now, and formatted it with different partition sizes that before. Lets see how that goes. If it goes blah again, someone let me borrow their shot gun or something :)

win2k doesnt require the partitions to be all ntfs it can still run with fat32.

Well...I think that if you use win XP...I think that formatting drives works better that way...I set some as ntfs and fat32.
