I have no experience with making websites and hope to start a financial information site. I'm looking for something thats easy to use. I'd also like something that can pull in charts or stuff from my Excel spreadsheets. One minor wish would be something that could be password protected (Not an immediate need though).

Any recommendations would be most helpful.

Well, to start coding, use Notepad. :D

Or are you saying you are a newbie to making web pages?

Well something like frontpage might be what you're looking for. Hell even the lil' java apps they got on geocities is good enough to get you started. From there, you might want to get a book or find a place on the net that has the html code.
