If he gets enough guys to sign up as members, than that means easier to sell ad space. So there's plenty of personal gain for him. IF he really just wanted names and emails, he could have asked people to post right here on this tread.

Hi,
Let me clear this up a little bit, I started dealking.net quite a while ago (2-3 month), I never actually publicly open it or anything like that, right now me and Vlad are trying to get this working and we are planning to do the complain to staples, so if you are interested let us know at that forum.
Thanks

I saw on another board that "consumeradvocate" is really VLADIK, someone who's been causing a lot of trouble on the freebie boards lately.

Not sure if this is true or not, but I have my suspicions!!!

AJ

Gee I wonder where that idea would come from:

from that link-
"Me and Vlad (Consumer Advocate) we will send this letter..."

what kind of trouble could someone actually cause?

Ummm, I don't mean to be rude or anything, but they'll take you a lot more seriously if you can find someone with a firm grasp of grammar and sentence structure to re-write that complaint letter at http://151.198.28.224/ubb/Forum5/HTML/000001.html.

VLAD, aren't you the one that got kicked off the Anandtech board and started that awful DealKing board?? My apologies if you are not, although I am sure I am right about this. This is not my first rodeo; I've been here for a long time. I check the freebie boards every day, and remember all the trouble caused by someone going by the name of VLADIK.

Exactly! GET REAL!

Any company has the right to cancel an order on the basis of misadvertised price and/or suspected fraud. The disclaimers are readily available and retailer protection has been in place for many many years before the advent of the internet.

Once again. You think you have the right to rip off a company, but you don't. If you purchased something legit, then place the same order again. If otherwise, federal gov consumer protection groups, including the ITC, FTC, as well as non governmental agencies as the BBB, etc. will laugh...really LAUGH at you.

Staples isn't exactly the greatest when it comes to orders, but then again, they also have been "ripped off" with illegitimate purchased by many buyers..many times at that.

Apperantly, by trying to "fight for your right", you've also shown your greediness, and have shown behavior that runs against the way Gotapex is supposed to be

yeah i agree, you can't get on staples for not letting us rip them off. They may not honor their stupidly cheap deals, but they didn't cheat anyone. You probably just want a ton of email addresses to spam. what other companies have you done this to?

My thoughts exactly....

Perhaps we should not be flaming people who are trying to help.
The problem is not that Staples won't let you rip them off. I believe most people can accept a cancelled order due to invalid coupon codes.
But instead of cancelling orders, Staples will illegally overcharge your credit card for an unauthorized amount. Now that is a problem.
I will support any cause to stop Staples from committing any further credit card fraud.

These aren't flames. Sound like some pretty legit gripes to me.

If only this type of vigilance can be direct towards racism, sexism, poverty, domestic violence, etc. vs. that of personal financial gain.

If there has been an unresolved case after all channels for rectifying the situation has been exhausted, then I'd be mad. Learn to use your resources and determination for something good

And, truthfully.....if you don't like staples.com, STAY AWAY FROM THEM! If you want to take chances, then you can continue to take your chances with them...but don't complain about it and understand the possible risks.

"If only this type of vigilance can be direct towards racism, sexism, poverty, domestic violence, etc. vs. that of personal financial gain."

Once again, I don't think that most people are mad that Staples will not honor the order. Thus it would not be for financial gain. However when Staples overcharges your credit card, then you will experience some financial loss. That is something worth getting upset over.

"If there has been an unresolved case after all channels for rectifying the situation has been exhausted, then I'd be mad. Learn to use your resources and determination for something good"

In many instances, situations originating in March are still unresolved. Trust me.... I know.

"And, truthfully.....if you don't like staples.com, STAY AWAY FROM THEM! If you want to take chances, then you can continue to take your chances with them...but don't complain about it and understand the possible risks."

Let me offer this hypothetical: If I were to open an online store and charge people for an amount greater than the agreed upon price, I would be subjected to numerous lawsuits and governmental investigations. How Staples is avoiding this prosecution, I don't know. "Possible risks" should not be a factor in trying to provide a safe online shopping experience.

Please read the www.dealking.net (http://www.dealking.net) topic:
Actually..I'll make it easy and post it for you guys

"Topic:** STAPLES!!! CANCELLED ORDERS!"

If it was in regards to overcharging, then it would be somewhat akin to this.

"Topic: HELP! I'VE BEEN OVERCHARGED BY A STUPID COMPANY THAT KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HAS NO CLUE ABOUT E COMMERCE!"

Anyways, enough caps...which brings me to another random thought.

The website name reminds me of something....from the Simpsons....Plow king!

hey...i just thought of something...

I just think he posted this to get us to his site in an unoffesive way in accordance to Apex's policy. Basically he wanted us to visit the site and join so he could get more members and maybe post there more often.
Just a thought.

Either way this isnt a deal and should probably be moved, since its just causing commotion.

I'm not slow, I know its UBB i post here enough, but who is dumb enough to make it all black-it looks like it should be called Goth Apex.

Plus whats up with you guys having basically the same name....

Its cultural I guess..Kind of like the names for Irish gay people:
Mike Fitzpatrick and
Patrick Fitzjohn

hahah no offense on that joke, if you get it

Um... No!

Where is the moderator? We need someone to take care of this. Hellooooooo?

Please do not be coming to this board and asking people to go away and post on other boards.. it's rude. Get members the old fashioned way, work hard! And as for slamming the default settings on this board... you slam apex, you slam all of us.

Vladik is only 16, perhaps he would learn grammar if he spent some time in school instead of bothering all the boards. Yes he is the one that was banned from Anandtech at he time of the last staples fiasco (and has been banned on other boards too). He was accused of being a mole and giving staples info. Why is he posting as both Vadimr and ConsumerAdvocate? split personality? Go away Vladik!

I hope I wasn't being negative http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

My response is only a response to what I see as a stupid, vague, unsubstanciated post by a person who seems greedy and self serving. I'm not even referring to the age of the poster.

If this was a serious problem, the poster would've :

a) listed what the problem was clearly
b) ask for help on what to do
c) Reasearch and understand the laws and basic consumer protection(you can't sue or complain because of non-shipment)

Who in their right mind would sign a petition w/o knowing what it's about? for all you know, it can be a "Promise to give me 10 dollars" petition or a "I officially state that I'm an ass" petiton.

All I see this is a something used for self-gain.....pity the fool who follows in his/her footsteps.
