View Full Version : Able to tell Hardware Componets from Outside?

I was wondering if there was a way to tell what hardware compents someone has from the outside of thier computer, Such as memory (pin and speed)

Some memory will have everything labeled on the chip itself. Most proc you can also tell by looking at the numbers and what not on the chip. Video cards too, hell most stuff if you just look at it physically you can get a clue of what it is.

if youre talking about from looking at parts physically, as spigidygak said, most components should have it labeled. if you are talking about finding out from within windows, try SiSoft Sandra

I was asking about from windows, I dont always want to go into someones case, too much trouble jsut to find out they cant use my extra memory or something. Thats for the SiSoft Sandra, Ill give it a try
