KG7-RAID help

I have a KG7-R

2 questions:

1.) can i run a single device from the onboard IDE RAID channel? just like a normal IDE channel. would i be able to run a cdrom drive or something off of the RAID channel?

2.) when setting up 2 HDs in a RAID array do i run both drives from a single channel or 1 drive on each?
