Nintendo has shipped Gamecubes to a limited number of retailers. People have reported picking up their preorders today. However, it's solely based on each store. However, Nintendo has given retailers permission so it's not like against Nintendo's will.

Rumor on the web has it that Ebgames.com will try to ship all of their preorders by this Friday.

Official Street Date is Nov 18.

Update:

ebgames.com is trying to get ALL the preorders in customers' hands by FRIDAY, regardless of shipping method. If you ordered in the second or third round, you'll get it no later than Monday.

Eb retail is waiting for something, some managers are waiting till Sunday, some might be waiting till tomorrow or Friday.

Other random places like Sam Goody or Coconuts have been selling GC since yesterday.

Bestbuy is waiting till friday, but call them up.

If you preordered from a store call them up and see if they'll give it to you early.

Got mine today! I had to run all over town to get it; BestBuy, K-Mart, Babbages, and finally Circut City had some (a giant stack of them actually). I love the controller, and the size of the system just kicks butt! Going to go play Rouge Leader!

Damn straight. Most of the gc games out right now as it is aren't that spectacular either. Just shows how much more mundane. One thing I am shocked honestly about though are the campagins going on tv. Is it just me or is Nintendo putting out more commercials and BETTER ones than the XBOX. What happened to M$'s great marketing abilities? I'm really starting to get dissapointed from what M$ is showing so far. But we'll just have to wait and see.

MS MEDIA BLITZ

Their TV commercials maybe understated, but their media blitz in other areas in picking up. GameSpot, which IMO is credible, reports that they can't figure out why Dead or Alive 3 is getting mega-rave reviews, while Smash Brothers Melee is labeled as a total rehash. Look at the games closely, and you will see that Dead or Alive 3 is just a prettier version of Dead or Alive 2, while Melee has changes that affect the way the game is played. Oh, Dead or Alive is exclusively for the XBOX, and Melee for GC. Coincidence?

MS did the same thing to OS2 and other competitors during the OS wars. It is well documented that their media blitzes are very effective.

I totally agree with you. M$ has their <whatever> stuck up the asses of retailers and the press. It's kinda sick if you think about it...

However, I don't think DOA3's rave reviews is because of Microsoft. I have two words to describe it's popularity: Bouncy bouncy.

Yeah I played that game. . . meh it just looks a leetle more bouncierrrrr pretier but from the ps2 version not much change. I was bored with it at the store after two matches. But I guess its good for the few under-a-rock gamers that haven't played any DOA series yet.

Why don't they make a game with sexy real life models? Pamela Anderson versus Jessica Alba! The Dark Angel vs Wake up and smell the silicon!
