S/NSS - Computer problems yet again

Well, I have been having all of these problems with my computer and had to go through this whole ganza migel (big thing) to try to get it working. Well my CDRW still wasnt working, so I contacted Micron and they sent me a new one. Thing is, I have a 4x sony and they sent me a 8x Nec as a replacement. While I am not sure if the quality of the NEC is comparable to the sony, but I figure it is great that the CDRW is twice as fast. Anyone have any clue about the comparable quality.

Well, I had the new burner installed today, and yet I am still having damn computer problems. I still am getting no sound from my Soundblaster live when I am using my DVD player. I get sound if I switch into the hardware decoder card, but what is the point of having a good soundcard if its not working with the entire system. This is really annoying, to top it off, the workman came when I wasnt here, and didnt bother checking to see if there was a disc in the drive he was removing, which of course there was. So I had to use the emergency open feature (gotta love it) and I guess I am goign to have to call this repair man back to see how he "fixed" the sound! This is freaking annoying. I have to say, this is now definite suckage.
