King's CAT scan reveals five old bullets

Promoter Don King was hospitalized briefly Tuesday after suffering a head injury during a turbulent flight from Los Angeles, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

King spent Monday in Los Angeles promoting Saturday's heavyweight championship fight between Hasim Rahman and challenger Lennox Lewis.

According to the newspaper, the private jet he was flying in with public relations director Alan Hopper and assistants Isadore Bolton and Eric Brown, hit encountered heavy turbulence.

King reportedly was tossed out of his seat and hit his head on the ceiling of the aircraft. The force tore the arm off his chair.

The Review-Journal said King went to Valley Hospital in Las Vegas to undergo a CAT scan.

King told the paper he checkout fine and added he saw five bullets that remain in the back of his head from a 1959 shooting in the CAT scan.

"Being in that plane is like my living room, so I'm just relaxing and I didn't have (my seat belt) on," King said. "Never again. I learned a lesson. That will never happen again."

There were no serious injuries with the other passengers.

It doesn't really say....did he KNOW he had 5 bullets in the back of his head or what the hell man. How could someone not know that.

I'm sure that he "knew" about them... since he stated where they came from.

They were probably lodged in his brain too close to some blood vessels or something to remove... He just stated that since there is "C.A.T. scan" technology now, he was able to see them now in a picture.

The better question is... what did he do back in 1959 to end up with 5 bullets in his head? We know what he has done since in the boxing world, but you figure that he was a young man back in those days (doing "dumb stuff" obviously).

The fact that he actually survived 5 shots to the head is what amazes me. I would be VERY afraid of this man! (BTW, you do realize that Don King has actually killed a man before... in self defense. Very very dangerous... to say the least.)

i'm sure you can take him on, one on one. Of course once you beat him, he'll probably offer to be your agent! :D

I heard this story mentioned in the sports news on the radio this morning. They said that they were shotgun pellets (not bullets) that were seen. Not quite as serious as bullets, but still a surprise (to the medical team) I imagine.

Nah.. he's a "bad man". Even folks from "Da 'Hood" know when NOT to mess with someone.

Well, i'm not from da 'hood, so bring it on Don King. I can take ya! :)

I don't want nothing to do with someone who can hold five bullets in their head. I know my head can only take one, then I'm done. He scares me.
