Bill Cosby! is by far the funniest stand up comedian ever. You ever seen his stuff from the early 80s? it's hilarious.
Dennis Leary and Juan Villareal are good too.

John Pinette kinda gets on my nerves. He reminds me too much of Louie Anderson, and that guy sucks!

Obby no offense but your thread about all those great comedies(Something About Mary, Billy Madison, etc) being dumb means you are either A. too smart for your own good or B. can't recognize a good comedy when you see one. Either way, I think you probably aren't the greatest judge for comedies. I thought the Bernie Mac show was pretty good. Much better than many other "comedies" named after the star of the show.
DarkFury, I should have known you wouldn't forget Mr. Robin Harris. He is my favorite as well. I had a tape of his that had two concerts on it, one on each side. To this day I still don't think I have heard anything funnier.
A close second is Carlos Mencia. Then:
Chris Rock
Dave Attell
Dave Chappelle
Honorable Mention: Louis CK

Who remembers when "Comedy Central" used to be just "The Comedy Channel" and they'd play 1-3 minute "videos" of stand-ups for like, 20 hours of their 24 hour daily schedule? That channel was so much better before they actually created real shows and stuff.

Well if you are ever lucky enough eo catch Doug Stanhope...you are a lucky person. I have aben a huge fan of Carlos Mencia, D. Chappelle, R. Pryor, E. Murphy, and R. Harris, etc. But this guy makes me laugh so hard that I almost shat myself ;) peep this small piece of one of his routines.

There's a rather new up-n-coming stand up artist called Ralph Harris. He is one of the funiest tory tellers I have ever seen. He has a special on Comedy Central and I have also seen him at Cobb's Comedy Club in SF. He is just amazing. Watch out for this guy!!

'Scues me! :wavey:
The topic is Best Comedians EVER
not best comedians you remember from last week.
How about:
Danny Kaye? - He was beyond fast! You couldn't even try to keep up with him. He was so glib even an auctioneer couldn't out talk him.
George Burns - The man was funny for 100 years. He was doing shows almost untill his final days.
Bob Hope - He might not be funny to you, but he was hillarious to a past couple of generations. He also did USO tours in every war since WW2.
Benny Goodman, Uncle Milty, Dan Quale (well he was funny, a whole country laughed at him fo 4 years), Jack Lemmon, and Walter Mathow.
Today's commedians are cruder for sure, but funnier? Who knows for sure.
I didn't forget Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby, George Carlin, and Steven Wright. They were already mentioned and are all great talents.

Have you all forgotten the hilarious ADAM SANDLER ? He's great!
My list:
Adam Sandler
Robin Williams
Wanda Sykes Hall
Jerry Seinfeld
George Carlin
And... my mother has done some recent comedy acts at our religious affiliated place and the school in which she teaches at. She's actually very funny.
