netscape 6.2 is a huge improvement over the 4.x series and the 6.0 version. I recommend it. It opens almost as fast as IE, its a nice alternative.

I used to be a Nutscrape fan, but I've been using IE for awhile and I like it better. Opera is cool too, but it takes some getting used to.
In linux, i use mozilla (thank you jujubees ;P) cept when i need to cut and copy stuff.... then i use either konquerer or netscape. In windows i use IE 6.0.2 (as of right now)

I've always been an IE user, netscape takes forever to load up, but someone said that they did improve on that. But still, IE is a lot better IMO.

I used to use Netscape, but now I use IE as it is already installed so that is one less program to install or be on the system.
I know there are ways to "wash windows" of IE, but oh well.

The browser I use the most is Netscape (6.2 now). For most things, it's fine, and at least it isn't as plagued with security risks the way IE is. I do notice on the forums, though, that the reply entry window is only about half as wide in Netscape as it should be.

I like IE because I hate installed unecessary CRAP on my computer. If I don't need it, I don't install it.

yeah. I think as a number two I would take Opera. it does take some getting used to, but we had to use it at work last year b/c the boss had the ITs block IE and Nutscrape b/c we were always on the net and not working. We subverted "the man" by installing Opera. I liked that all the Opera windows were contained in one program, not multiple windows. That was nice. No Nutscrape for me. Never.

well, i always used to be a netscape person ever since the core design team from moasic moved to netscape back in the early 90s. back then, netscape was way better than ie (the early versions of ie just sucked). netscape and ie were about equal (imo) through the netscape v5/ie v4 generation, but netscape v6 really sucked (it was way too large of a file, took forever to load, etc etc). i've never seen v6.2 though. i've been on ie5.5 ever since i got my corporate laptop in march, and it's ok. i really don't like using micro$haft programs though.....makes me feel like i'm giving into the power

That's my only beef w/ netscape..
I hate ie cause if IE crashes...u pretty much need to reboot your computer (unless you're using a diff shell, which i did for a while).
I never got into the round buttons on netscape, and I like the fact on ie (5.somethin) that you can make the back forward buttons really small, move the address bar up high, so that you get maximum viewing area :)
so, i use ie.
faster on loadup.
no refresh on resize
and I reserve my netscape for large or suspect webpages (read, most webpages that you guys post up here and say that they're good/funny webpages) where i don't want my ie crashing...

IE is easier to transfer bookmarks from computer to computer. Is there a way to do this on Nutscape?

i use IE, v5.50 at work and IE whatever version is built into XP at home. I used netscape until after college. the computer i was using only had IE, and i realized how much better than netscape it was.

yes there is..
usually a file called bookmarks.htm.
how much easier can that be??? :)
lot easier than ie, cause u got a whole bunch of files within your favorites folder, while netscape is just one file...

...which is easily edited if you want to. Same with all the "environment" files that control Netscape - you don't have to start hacking at the registry.

I loved Nestcape 3.0 Gold, then IE 4.0 came and stole the world. IE 6 is nice and fast. I prefer MicroShi+

all of 'em!
IE5+, the newer the better. The standards support improved with each new version. Standards good, proprietary crap bad.
NS6+ are also great. No more refresh on reload, no more random crashes when using certain CSS, very nice adherence to standards.
Opera's not too bad, though I don't like the multiple document interface. Seems like all it saves is a button on the task bar, eh?
The 4.x browsers were a joke and IT departments still insisting on deploying them should be bound and gagged.
Remember: standards good. Any developer who's worth his pay check conforms as best as possible to the written rules, so the better your browser understands that, the better your online experience.

There are a few bugs here and there (bug is synonymous with Microsloth), but the browser's doing what it oughtta be doing. No company so far has hit the mark with 100% conformity.
And to add to the list of good browsers, Mozilla is also a good choice.

For some reason, several of my systems had problems with Netscape, so I went to IE and never looked back...
