Ive been looking for this game left and right... its old skool, i think its done in vector graphics (like old skoo Asteroids). you control a spacecraft and you try to destroy this big ol' space station thing in the middle of the screen. The station has couple of rotating force shields surrounding it, so you try to shoot a hole through the shields and destroy the space station (which is shooting at you, btw)

you know the game?

I remember the old Star Wars X-Wing game was vector based...

nah, its not a side-scroller, but a stationary top-down view. You move your ship around, avoiding the missiles that the space station shoots at you, and you just try to shoot down the shields and blow the damn thing up.

maybe its called "space castle"... ?

Mame is an engine that allows you to play old quarter munching arcade games on your PC.
People get the old eproms(?) that have the program in it and export it into a file. Mame reads the file and lets your PC emulate the old game machine, without the quarter munching.
