If I changed my mobo, would I need to reformat my harddrive and reinstall everything?..... Heard this somewhere

Nope, just swap in the new mobo, the hard drive can be kept as is.

The reason they said that was sometime it there could be a problem with winblows doing something stupid on you. It has happened before....but I have never had it happen to me. You should be alright.

well just keep it as is install new MB. if its doesn't come out the way you want it then just redo the HD.
can't hurt to try?
