Well I thought they can shoot/dribble the ball with both hands. So I guess what you're saying is ambidextrity is something that is learned, not born with?

Ambidexterity is not learned. It is just the way you are. Some people can learn to use their off hand almost as well as an ambidexterous person, but they are not truly ambidexterous unless they can do everything just as well with their left hand as their right.
It just isn't going to happen unless they are predisposed to being that way.

A left handed person can never become ambidexterous in the true meaning of the word. They would have to be ambisinister.
