View Full Version : Civ 3
Got Civ 3.
I've never played a Civ game before and maybe that has something to do with it but I hate it. It is really unintuitive as opposed to Sim City series or Caesar 3. All the people that have played Civ games in the past loved it but people who havent hated it. I'm glad I didnt pay money for it, because 50$ is a lot to pay for something that bad.
side note: I got Empire Earth and it owns. Very intuitive, I picked it up after the first game and it became second nature quickly. I recommend it.

I played Civ I and II, but did not like Civ III. WHAT IS UP with the double clicking?

I bought Civ3 and love it. School keeps getting in the way or I'd be playing a lot more. Empire Earth is awesome, but the computer cheats too much. If you would have bought Civ3 it comes with a manual that tells you how to do most everything.

I think Civ3 is great. The AI has gotten a lot better since Civ2 although the one thing I hate is with an aggressive nation, if you ask them to leave your territory they always declare war but when you are in their territory they try to force you out as well. I think the Civ series is very easy to pick up. I never had a manual for Civ2 but learned it quickly. I looked at maybe 5 pages in the Civ3 manual and was able to quickly recogonize the changes.

I agree. The fact that the computer didn't cheat in Age of Kings is a big part of what made the game so good.

Ah... Civ3...
I had to take a 10-hour (each way, driving) trip a few days after the game came out. Thank god for laptops. :heh:

Please tell me you weren't the one driving. If you were, where do you live? I'm gonna stay away from there.;)

I was the one driving, but I wasn't playing it in the car! The trip went like this:
10 hour drive there
meeting
10 hours of Civ3
1 hour of sleep
10 hours of Civ3
3 hours of sleep
10 hours drive back
