Two questions about the show everyone loves Iron Chef:

Did the host ever have an eyepatch? Both my roommate and I claim to have seen him with one but everyone else thinks we're crazy.

Anyone seen the new Iron Chef with William Shatner and how is it?

Shatner is actually fine, shockingly enough, but the whole show comes off like American Gladiators or something. They totally missed on what makes the original enjoyable, but at least they make food I might actually consider eating.

yeah i vaguely remember him having an eye patch. heres a bit of trivia info tho..chairman kaga ( the host ) was Jean Valjean in the japanese production of Les miserables.

Somehow, I can see him as Jean Valjean.
