Yeah, you are boring. All of ya

Just a quiet night. That's all

Okay, don't EVER say that!

I wanted my 1500 post to be a good one, *sigh* and it is...

I was sitting here, minding my own business. Donnie and I had made up the futon in Audie's room so the kids could watch some Disney movies while we watched tv out here in the living room. 8:10ish Pacific time, we hear Mikey screaming and crying. "Great what did Audie do to him?" I say and go into the bedroom.

*Big sigh* Don't say that either.

Apparently, Mikey had been jumping from the futon to Audie's twin bed going back and forth several times jumping across Audrey in the process. And like any older sibling would do, she put her legs up and tripped him. When I walked into the room, he had an inch gash that was pretty deep above his right eye and blood was all over :(
I brought him out to the living room, Donnie grabbed washcloths and we checked him out closer while getting ready for the ER trip. Audie went across the street to obnoxiousneighborthatwon'tshutup's house and we took off.

3 hrs later, we are back from the ER. Audie is sleeping over across the street and will have a good talk tomorrow about safety. (This isn't the first time she tried to kill her little brother -- the first was his finger in a door when he had just turned one.) She is feeling guilty, so that is almost punishment enough.

Mikey on the other hand, is doing fine too. He was great at the ER. He only cried when they gave him the shot and that was more being scared of not knowing. After that, he relaxed and let the doctor poke around and sew him up. He was so good that the doc was able to put in 3 stitches inside (where with kids they only normally can get one) and 6 on the surface. Now, he is "camping out" on the sofa watching Cartoon Network with Meowth. We have pics of him being silly too.

Heck, and I was going to introduce Lucy to ya for this post LOL. I guess I will do that later :)

Ouch....give him an ice cream from me...poor kid! Good thing kids are so tough. I'm SO not ready for my kids to start harming each other, lol.

He sure is a cutie!

yea i'm an older sibling, did pretty much the same thing to my bro, but didn't really want to hurt him we were just play fighting and he kinda tripped and fell head first into a glass coffee table, caught on the edge, sliced his brow open.... much blood and screaming, he was like 3, he's fine now, we just washed it and gave him ice cream (they don't put stitches on these kinds of wounds in Russia), so now he doesn't even have a scar.

Cute kid by the way, kudos to him for being a good sport

Hehe.. yeah he is a cute kid. And he knows it too! Gonna be a problem when he gets older :D

I think we are treating him to MickyD's today for a treat. His sister came home this morning and was scared to look at him. She didn't realize he hit his head. She saw the blood on his hand and thought she had hurt his hand again.

He is starting to complain about a headache. So I am going to call the doc to see about some Motrin. I thought it would be with the discharge papers and it totally slipped my mind when we left so, I didn't ask.

But besides that, he is already picking on all of us. He is going to be just fine :D

Ouch, poor kid! :( How sis doing now? lol

When I was in 3rd grade, we went with my mom to parent teacher confrence and my brother (1st grade) & I stayed out on the playground to play. We were playing tag and the single bar was base. I was sitting on top of it, waiting for my brother to come close enough that I could jump off and run from him, when he ran up and tagged me and I fell off backwards. I broke my right wrist in two places. I still tease him about breaking my arm. ;)

cute kid! i got 6 stitches in my head when i was 5. i got hit in the head with a rock- the kid up the street was throwing rocks to try to lure his big scary scary dog away from him. sadly, he had bad aim and managed to smack me in the head. i was not a happy camper. about 5 years later, my sister hit me in the head with an aluminum baseball bat and i ended up getting 3 stitches in the exact same spot as the rock hit me. so not only do i have a little scar there, but its also a permanent bump. glad hes ok

Audie did the same thing! Well, the double stitches thing. We got her a my size barbie about 4 years ago for Christmas and she was dressed up in the doll's clothes and she tripped over the skirt and fell flat on her chin on the hardwood floor. 8 stitches right under her jaw line in the soft spot behind the bone. Then about a year later, she was doing the jumping on the bed thing and fell and busted it again. This time they were able to glue it. Still bumpy though cuz she did it a third time about 6 months after that. Her dad had her and just put a bandaid on it. By the time I saw it, it was too late to get her to a doc (3 days later) so it's a bump.

Hope he heals up well, chrissy.

One of my boys was really amazing when he had to get stiches. He would juse clinch up and not let out a whimper. The ER people would almost encourage him that it was ok to cry, and he would just tough it out. Always amazed them.

oh man, here's a story to add. When my sister was a toddler, she was eating an apple slice. She ran from the kitchen to the backdoor. By the door, there is one step up from the living room to the door. It is made of brick (an extension of the place in front of the fireplace). You can see where this is going... She tripped and hit her mouth on the edge of the bricks. She was spitting out blood and bits of white stuff and my mom was absolutely terrified it was teeth. Turned out to be apple (LOL) but she had to have stitches. She still has a scar, though. :)
